On December 12, 1963 the Shenandoah Herald reported on a case where Galen E. Stickley of Edinburg was convicted of possessing moonshine produced in the Ridge Hollow area of Shenandoah County by an unknown person(s). He was fined $150 and sentenced to 150 days in jail. Who produced the moonshine and exactly where the still was located is unknown.
